Additional comments:
The Industry Act 1975 contains provisions to enable the UK Government to prohibit transfer into foreign ownership of 30 percent or more (by voting power, for which purposes the ability to direct voters, as well as the holding of voting shares, is taken into account) of important UK manufacturing business if the transfer will be contrary to the interests of the UK relating to public policy, public security or public health. However, these provisions have never been used. These are for "important manufacturing undertakings".
